Sacramento, Calif.  – Move America Forward, the nation’s largest pro-troop grassroots organization, is preparing to host their 7th annual “Troopathon” fundraiser to raise money for care packages for U.S. troops fighting in Afghanistan.  Troopathon is an 8 hour long fundraiser that brings together movie stars, TV personalities, elected officials, musicians, talk radio hosts and many other pro-troop celebrities to encourage viewers to sponsor care packages for the troops online through the group’s website.

As in recent years, the Troopathon guest list features big-name celebrities Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Mark Levin, Laura Ingraham, Dr. Laura, Former President George H.W. Bush, Gary Sinise, Hulk Hogan, Kelsey Grammar, Mike “Coach K” Krzyzewski, Gov. Sarah Palin, Dennis Miller, and many more.

The following Troopathon hosts are available for media interviews to discuss the Troopathon and the need to support our troops before the June 25th air date:

MELANIE MORGAN (San Francisco, Calif.) Melanie is co-founder of Move America Forward as well as a talk radio veteran and grassroots advocate for the troops. Melanie has spent 15 years hosting radio talk shows on KSFO in San Francisco and America’s Morning News (Washington D.C.) from 2009-2010. Melanie also won the AP Mark Twain Award for Best Special Program in 2006 for her “Voices of Soldiers” tour where Melanie led a group of radio talk show hosts from all over the country in the heart of a war zone in Baghdad, Iraq to interview U.S. troops on the front lines. Melanie also visited troops in Kuwait in 2007 and Guantanamo Bay in 2008. She is Executive Producer and host of Troopathon for the 7th year in a row.

STEPHEN K BANNON (Los Angeles, CA) Stephen K. Bannon was a longtime friend of Andrew Breitbart and took over as Executive Chairman of Breitbart News after his unfortunate death in 2012. He also hosts Breitbart News Sunday on Sirius XM Radio’s Patriot conservative talk station. Bannon is an expert in understanding the culture war for the heart and soul of the American people. He’s directed ground-breaking documentaries such as “The Undefeated” a movie about Sarah Palin and “Face of Evil: Reagan’s War in Word and Deed” about Reagan’s championing of freedom in a world full of oppressive communist and theocratic regimes.

DEBBIE LEE (Phoenix, AZ.)  Debbie Lee is a Gold-Star mother. Her son Marc Alan Lee was the first Navy SEAL to be killed in the war in Iraq. Marc gave his life in Ramadi, Iraq on August 2nd, 2006 in a selfless heroic action fighting against insurgents. His sacrifice also saved the lives of three other members in his SEAL team, one who had a severe head injury. After her son made the ultimate sacrifice for his country, Debbie dedicated her life to supporting the troops and their missions in the War on Terror and joined Move America Forward as military liaison and spokesperson. She visited Iraq in 2007, and 2010 as well as Guantanamo Bay in 2008, with MAF.

The first Troopathon in 2008 raised an unprecedented $1.5 million in care packages for the troops. Through 2011, Troopathon events have raised over $3.5M in sponsorships, enabling the group to send over 195 TONS of care packages to troops overseas. Care packages include high quality food and personal care items like gourmet coffee, OREO® cookies, beef jerky, Gatorade®, Planters® trail mix, Jelly Belly® jelly beans, lip balm, deodorant, sun block, bug repellant, and many other useful items.

7TH ANNUAL FUNDRAISER BY MOVE AMERICA FORWARD BRINGS TOGETHER PRO-TROOP MOVIE STARS, MUSICIANS, RADIO AND TV PERSONALITIES

 

Sacramento, Calif.  – Move America Forward, the nation’s largest pro-troop grassroots organization, has announced their 7th star-studded live fundraiser that helps send care packages to American troops deployed in war zones overseas.

“Troopathon 7  – Care Packages for Heroes” is a 7-hour long fundraiser that brings together pro-troop movie stars, TV personalities, elected officials, professional athletes, musicians, talk radio hosts and many other supporters to encourage viewers to sponsor care packages for the troops serving overseas through the group’s website (www.troopathon.org) or by phone at (866) 866-6372.

Executive Producer Melanie Morgan said, “The Troopathon is unique in that it brings together popular actors, TV and radio hosts, foreign policy experts, musicians, professional athletes, retired military personnel and many others for one event. The big names are exciting, but the cause we come together to support is incredibly important.  With 33,000 troops still on the ground in Afghanistan, we cannot forget their continued service and sacrifice. Move America Forward remains steadfast in our commitment to supporting our troops in harm’s way!”

Morgan will be joined this year by co-hosts — Steven K. Bannon, Executive Chairman of Breitbart News Network and host of Sirius XM’s Breitbart News shows, and John McCaslin, broadcaster, author, and respected journalist. Bannon and McCaslin have joined Troopathon to co-host for the first time. Gold-Star Mom Debbie Lee, whose son Marc Alan Lee was the first US Navy SEAL to be killed in the Iraq war, will also join as returning co-host.

Past Troopathon guests have included the likes of Gov. Mike Huckabee, pro-wrestler Hulk Hogan, Governor Rick Perry, Gene Simmons of the band KISS, and Adam Carolla, Gov. Sarah Palin, Dennis Miller, Gary Sinise, John Ondrasik of the band Five for Fighting, Coach Mike Krzyzewski, Mark Levin, Sean Hannity, Rush Limbaugh and many more!

“Troopathon 7 – Care Packages for Heroes” will be produced and broadcast live from the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library in Simi Valley, California on June 25, 2014 from 1-8PM PST (4-11PM Eastern) via the web and simulcast on selected radio stations. This will be the second year the Reagan Library has hosted Troopathon.

The first Troopathon in 2008 raised an unprecedented $1.2 million in care packages for the troops. Through 2013, Troopathon events have raised over $4.5 million in sponsorships, enabling the group to send over 315 TONS of care packages to troops overseas. Care packages include letters of support along with high quality food and personal care items like Rogers Family gourmet coffee, OREO® cookies, beef jerky, Gatorade®, Planters® nuts, Jelly Belly® jelly beans, Hoo-Ahhs® field towels, lip balm, deodorant, sun block, and many other useful items requested by the troops.

Troopathon will officially go live on June 25th filmed on location at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library in Simi Valley, California.
