WE REMEMBER

Patriotic Americans today awoke with a prayer for our fallen heroes. We at Move America Forward work everyday to support our troops. Today, we bow in thanks to every one who so loved America that she or he laid down his life for us.

God Bless You.

And here are the remarks from President George W. Bush as he remembered:

REMARKS BY THE PRESIDENT

AT ARLINGTON NATIONAL CEMETERY MEMORIAL DAY COMMEMORATION

Arlington National Cemetery

11:15 A.M. EDT

THE PRESIDENT:  Thank you.  Mr. Secretary, thank you for the kind introduction.  Members of my Cabinet, members of the administration, Admiral Mullen, members of the United States Congress, Senator Warner and Congressman Skelton, members of the military, our veterans, honored guests, families of the fallen:  Laura and I are honored to be with you on Memorial Day and thank you for coming.

A few moments ago, I placed a wreath upon the tomb of three brave American[s] who gave their lives in service to our nation.  The names of these honored are known only to the Creator who delivered them home from the anguish of war—but their valor is known to us all.  It’s the same valor that endured the stinging cold of Valley Forge.  It is the same valor that planted the proud colors of a great nation on a mountaintop on Iwo Jima.  It is the same valor that charged fearlessly through the assault of enemy fire from the mountains of Afghanistan to the deserts of Iraq.  It is the valor that has defined the armed forces of the United States of America throughout our history.

Today, we gather to honor those who gave everything to preserve our way of life.  The men and women we honor here served for liberty.  They sacrificed for liberty.  And in countless acts of courage, they died for liberty.  From faraway lands, they were returned to cemeteries like this one, where broken hearts received their broken bodies—they found peace beneath the white headstones in the land they fought to defend.

It is a solemn reminder of the cost of freedom that the number of headstones in a place such as this grows with every new Memorial Day.  In a world where freedom is constantly under attack and in a world where our security is challenged, the joys of liberty are often purchased by the sacrifices of those who serve a cause greater than themselves.  Today we mourn and remember all who have given their lives in the line of duty.  Today we lift up our hearts especially those who’ve fallen in the past year.

We remember Army Specialist Ronald Tucker of Fountain, Colorado.  As a young man, Ronnie was known for having an infectious smile and a prankster’s sense of humor.  And then he joined the United States Army, which brought out a more mature side in him.  Ronnie transformed from a lighthearted teenager into a devoted soldier and a dutiful son who called his mother every day from his post in Iraq.  In his final act of duty, less than a month ago, he worked with other members of his unit to build a soccer field for Iraqi children.  As he drove back to his base, an enemy bomb robbed him of his life.  And today our nation grieves for the loss of Ronnie Tucker.

We remember two Navy SEALS—Nathan Hardy of Durham, New Hampshire, and Michael Koch of State College, Pennsylvania.  Nate and Mike were partners in the field and they were close friends in the barracks.  Through several missions together, they had developed the unique bond of brotherhood that comes from trusting another with your life.  They even shared a battlefield tradition:  They would often head into battle with American flags clutched to their chests underneath their uniform.  Nate and Mike performed this ritual for the last time on February the 4th—they both laid down their lives in Iraq after being ambushed by terrorists.  These two friends spent their last few moments on earth together, doing what they loved most—defending the United States of America.  Today, Nathan Hardy and Mike Koch lay at rest next to each other right here on the grounds of Arlington.

The men and women of American armed forces perform extraordinary acts of heroism every single day.  Like the nation they serve, they do not glory in the devastation of war.  They also do not flinch from combat when liberty and justice are embattled.  Ronald Tucker, Nathan Hardy and Mike Koch make clear, they do not waver—even in the face of danger.

And so today, here in Washington and across our country, we pay tribute to all who have fallen—a tribute never equal to the debt they are owed.  We will forever honor their memories.  We will forever search for their comrades, the POWs and MIAs.  And we pledge—we offer a solemn pledge to persevere and to provide the security for our citizens and secure the peace for which they fought.

The soil of Arlington and other sites is filled with liberty’s defenders.  It is nourished by their heroism.  It is watered by the silent tears of the mothers and fathers, and husbands and wives, and sons and daughters they left behind.  Today we pray for God’s blessing on all who grieve and ask the Almighty to strengthen and comfort them today and everyday.

On this Memorial Day, I stand before you as the Commander-in-Chief and try to tell you how proud I am at the sacrifice and service of the men and women who wear our uniform.  They’re an awesome bunch of people and the United States is blessed to have such citizens.  (Applause.)

I am humbled by those who have made the ultimate sacrifice that allow a free civilization to endure and flourish.  It only remains for us, the heirs of their legacy, to have the courage and the character to follow their lead—and to preserve America as the greatest nation on earth and the last best hope for mankind.

May God bless you and may God bless America

Peacethugs Target Troops in Uniform

TAKE OFF THAT UNIFORM OR FACE ASSAULT!!!!

The Vietnam era is over, but the hate by hippies, miscreants, lowlife liberals and other slime is still boiling like a witch’s cauldron in Hell. America-haters are harassing and attacking our men and women who wear the United States’ uniform in public right here at home, according to the government.

Peacethugs call names, follow and harass our troops. They use racial slurs and other hatemongering to disparage our soldiers.

The Department of Transportation is so concerned about the incidents that it suggests our troops not wear their uniforms in public, among other safety precautions.
This is from Michael Yon’s WEBSITE:

Washington D.C.
Dept of Transportation Federal Transit Administration sends:

Recently, there have been local incidents in which military personnel have been verbally assaulted while commuting on the Metro. Uniformed members have been approached by individuals expressing themselves as anti-government, shouting anti-war sentiments, and using racial slurs against minorities.
In one instance, a member was followed onto the platform by an individual who continued to berate her as she exited the metro station. Thus far, these incidents have occurred in the vicinity of the Reagan National Airport and Eisenhower Ave metro stations on the yellow line, however, military members should be vigilant and aware of their surroundings at all times while in mass transit.

Should you be approached by any individuals expressing anti-government/anti-war sentiments, or any other types of direct verbal assault, immediately notify your local police jurisdiction. If riding metro, exit the train at the next stop, distance yourself from the individual, and notify the Metro Transit Police Department.
For this and any other suspicious activity, NGB personnel are also asked to notify the Pentagon Command Center at (703)697-1001, and the NGB Antiterrorism/Force Protection Officer, MSgt Cyril Charity, at (703)607-2396 or (571)239-1109 (after duty hours).

Here are a few friendly reminders of personal protective measures that can help you to stay safe:

-If possible, do not commute in uniform (military members) -Do not display DoD building passes, “hot cards”, or personal identification in open view outside of the workplace -Do not discuss specifics about your occupation to outside solicitors
-Always try to remain in well lit, well populated train cars if traveling via metro -Be vigilant at all times!

V/R,

National Operations Center

The enemies of our country are trying to undermine our security by pushing surrender in Iraq, cutting off funds for our troops’ basic needs, attacking recruiting centers and assaulting our troops here at home. This is called Treason. It is a hate crime if ever there was one.

The frustrating thing about this monstrous behavior is that the soldiers could put a quick end to the idots’ antics. From the peacethugs I’ve seen up close, most fifth-grade schoolgirls could take the wimps down. But our troops have pride and unbelievable restraint, so the anti-American cretins keep on with their behavior.
It is a sad, sad day in America when our enemy not only lives in caves, but next door.

Madman Mahmoud: Palestinians will eradicate Jews

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has opened his filthy mouth again, claiming that Israel would “be soon swept away” from the Palestinian Territories by the Palestinians. It is the second time within less than three years that the Iranian president predicted the eradication of the Jewish state, according to the Earth Times.

This terrorist and criminal state is backed by foreign powers, but this regime would soon be swept away by the Palestinians,” Ahmadinejad said in a press conference in Tehran.

The terrorist in chief of Iran is getting more desperate as his regime’s No. 1 threat, the Mujahadeen-e-Khalq (MEK) gains major footing in Britain. The British Courts have said that the government must remove the MEK from its list of terrorists.

Today, two U.S. Congressmen held a press conference in Washington D.C. saying that the British Court Ruling should pave the way for the United States to also remove the p MEK from the U.S. terrorist list.

The MEK was listed as terrorists as a way to appease the Iranian regime. The group did engage in violence against the Iranian regime, but has laid down its arms and denounced violence.

All of this action around Iran comes as the country cracks down on citizens who break “moral laws,” such as wearing the wrong colors.

(women beaten after wearing the wrong clothing)

Experts say that Iran is the No. 1 exporter of terror. The country, which borders Iraq, trains terrorists who attack Americans inside Iraq and supply weapons to America’s enemies.

Just this week Rakkasan Soldiers recovered a rocket launcher and two Iranian 107 mm rockets near Mustufar, about 18 kilometers south of Baghdad.

Soldiers from 1st Battalion, 33rd Cavalry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division, acted on a tip from a local citizen that there was a rocket launcher in the area, according to a government media release.

American troops have confirmed that many of the high-powered roadside bombs that have killed Americans were produced in Iran, which is also working on nuclear power. Of course, Ahmadinejad says the power would be for domestic energy. Yeah. And the Manhattan Project was just meant to warm the homes in New Mexico.

Iran is a worldwide menace. Its president wants to see Armageddon as a way to fulfill his radical religious beliefs.

Iran is behind the violence in Lebanon, where its agents are trying to stage a coup d’etat. But even Arab states are unhappy with the current Iranian regime. Prince Saud al-Faisal, Saudi Arabia’s foreign minister blamed the Iranian regime on Tuesday for supporting coup d’état in Lebanon and said Arab states do not support this war mongering.

The sad thing is that the Iranian people are held hostage by their radical leaders. They are beaten if they speak out, or worse, hanged on a crane for various offenses. Women can be stoned.

The Iranian people – and the world – deserve much more. They are beautiful people who have so much to offer to the world. They just need freedom.

An Exceptional Day: Salute to Melanie Morgan

Our hero, the radiant Melanie Morgan

It was a bright, sunny day - unusually gorgeous, and without any of the lingering fog and low clouds that cling to San Francisco like liberal political activists who never seem to leave.

Supporters of Move America Forward, and our military men and women, gathered at the historic Fior d’Italia (America’s oldest Italian restaurant) to pay tribute to Melanie Morgan.  Bob Larive, owner of the Fior d’Italia was an outstanding host who welcomed attendees with open arms.

The Fior’s Bob Larive and Melanie Morgan

The “Salute to Melanie Morgan” event honored the energetic, passionate and caring leader of our pro-troop organization, and brought people together who share a commitment to support our troops and defeat any efforts by anti-military activists to dishonor them.

Part of the Crowd at the General Fundraiser

Radio talk show host, talented comedian, columnist and TV political analyst, Michael Graham, flew in from Boston, MA to serve as master of ceremonies from the event.  Michael and Melanie led the first delegation of talk radio hosts into Iraq in 2005:  The Voices of Soldiers - Truth Tour.  Michael was gregarious, funny and charming, and the audience loved him.

Michael Graham & Melanie Morgan at the Podium

Michael was sooo funny that at times Melanie didn’t know what to do with him!

What are we going to do with Michael Graham?

There were a lot of great patriots in attendance.  At the VIP fundraiser, Bohdan Papara - a frequent supporter of Move America Forward - showed off his pride for our troops with his “Our Troops, Our Heroes” shirt.

And at the general attendance fundraiser the crowd showed their love for this country - putting their hands over their hearts as they enthusiastically sang the national anthem.

Patriotic Supporters Show Love for America

KSFO’s exceptionally talented radio host, and meteorologist extraordinaire, Brian Sussman was on hand for the VIP event.

Brian was a big hit with many in attendance, including Lou & Paulette Bevilacqua - who have been terrific supporters of our troops and MAF.

The VIP event featured lots of fascinating discussions about a wide variety of issues. It was so exciting to hear people speak about their passions for this country and the ideals of freedom and liberty.

The VIP Fundraising Reception

A lot of great supporters were on hand - people who have given their time and money to support Move America Forward’s pro-troop efforts.  Our hats are tipped to you in appreciation!

Katie Boyd, a spunky and passionate soul, with Melanie

Our thanks to Marsh Johnson & his family.  Here he is with Brian Sussman.

And here’s some shots with a larger focus on the crowd of good folks who attended.  Look closely to see if you happen to know anyone - there were a lot of great patriots on hand.

Everyone enjoyed singer Diana Nagy’s performance which included The Star Spangled Banner and her patriotic smash hit, Where Freedom Flies.

Diana Nagy sings her heart out.

Towards the end of the general admission fundraiser, Michael Graham opened up the floor to members of the audience to ask whatever questions they had for Melanie.  It was a great Q&A, with Melanie giving people an update on her career in radio and also on the big upcoming June 26th Internet TV Telethon: “From the Frontlines.”

Q & A for Melanie

I had the chance to speak with Grace Fong who has been supporting MAF ever since it was launched in 2004.

The charming and kind-hearted Grace Fong.

Melanie was thrilled to see Cinnamon Stillwell, a blogger and contributor to SFGate.com.  Melanie is a big admirer of Cinnamon’s writing.

Melanie with Cinnamon Stillwell

Melanie had the chance to talk with David Blumberg, a managing partner at Blumberg Capital who has been very kind to help Move America Forward position itself to secure greater amounts of funding for our pro-troop efforts in the future.

David Blumberg and others thank Melanie.

And finally, Mike and Annette DeNunzio deserve special recognition for their support of MAF, our troops, and the kindness and compassion they have shown.  They are all around great people and Melanie wanted all of us to send extra-special thanks for their warm-hearted generosity over the years.
