Happy Memorial Day to Our Troops

To all of our troops serving overseas, we wish you a happy Memorial Day

Thanks to you, America is that much safer and we owe our continued safety to your continuing work there in Afghanistan and Iraq. Our troops have done a wonderful job not just defeating the terrorists, but in building a new and brighter future for the Afghan and Iraqi people. It has been a long, tough road, but our troops have perceived through it thanks to their discipline, dedication, and professionalism.

To our veterans who served in past wars, we owe you the most. America would not be the strong nation that it is today if not for your actions of heroism and bravery, defending America and our freedoms in countless conflicts, everywhere around the world, wherever it was threatened.

To all our Vets past and present, and our troops serving today, THANK YOU and have a happy Memorial Day. God bless our troops and God bless the United States of America.

A Grand Finale in the Blogger Shootout

Erica Anderson wrote the following to all of the bloggers who stood up for our troops and participated in the first-ever blogger shootout!!!

Thank you to all who participated in our blogger shootout--we were absolutely stunned by its success. The blogs in the competition all demonstrated a huge commitment to our troops and, as of today, our tabulation puts us at over $55,000 for care packages from all of the blogger teams!

First place went to the leader from the start: the HOT AIR STEAMERS! Ed Morrissey, of Hot Air, led his team to an unrelenting triumph—competing teams made headway, but never came close! Congratulations to Ed and his fellow teammates: The Barton Bulletin, Ladies Logic, Leaning Straight Up, The Lonely Conservative, The Minority Report, Mitchell Blatt, No Sheeples Here, Political Pistachio, -S- Bird, Stix Blog Ver. 3.0, and YidwithLid. The team has continued to push for care packages, and their winning total was $24,704.36 for care packages!

In second place we have the Greyhawks, led by Team Captain Ron Winter of Ron Winter Books. On the last day of the competition--the day of the Troopathon--the Greyhawks raised well over half of their team total bringing in $10,522.63 for care packages. Their total on that day also makes the Greyhawks the winner of our competition for the greatest contribution for care packages from a blogger team in a single day! Job well done to Ron Winter and his teammates: The Carpet City Chronicle, Consent of the Governed, Radio Vice Online and Rescue Attempt. Their overall total was $17,146.06 for care packages!

And third place went to the Anti-Jihadists team, led by Robert Spencer of Jihad Watch. This team rallied hard throughout the competition--referring other blogs to join and pushing their readers to contribute every day! Their efforts paid off, coming in third overall and winning our June 18th daily competition! Congratulations to this HUGE team: Amillennialist Contra Mundum, Andrew Bostom, Atlas Shrugs, Bare Naked Islam, Bird Brain, B’nai Eim Blog, BradThor.Com: The Thorum, Clueless Emma, Creeping Sharia, Federale, Gates of Vienna, Islamic Danger to Americas, Islam in Action, The Jawa Report, Little Green Footballs 2, Muslims Against Sharia, Patriot’s Corner, Radio Jihad, Random Thoughts, Right Wing Bob, Snow Report Blog, The Snooper Report, Theodore’s World, Undaunted, Watson 37 and Weasel Zippers. This team referred a total of $9,298.72 in contributions for care packages.

With the help of Marc Danziger of Winds of Change leading Team COINS, Syncro leading team FreeRepublic.com, and Nancy leading team Family Security Matters, we had a total of 6 teams participating and all contributed greatly to our overall total!

Thank you to all! This was great fun; we hope those who participated enjoyed it as much as we did! We can't wait to do it again!

More than $600,000: Thank you America

The only words I have to say to you all is Thank You. YOu have shown the troops that we have not forgotten - nor will we ever forget. Our men and women are out there in hellish heat fighting for our security.
Now we will send them loads of care packiages from home.
Too every participant, to every person who sponsored care packages: You have made life better for our troops.
From the bottom of my heart, thanks.

Gary Sinese Steps up for Troops - Again!

Sinese: Visits the troops for the past five summers. Wow.

“After Sept. 11 I wanted to do something.”
Sinese called the USO and went on tours for them.

He sees “overwhelming courage” in our troops.

Jed Babbin, Human Events editor, on Troopathon: God Bless Our Troops

Babbin: The point now is the we have an adminstration that does not support the troops. Obama Adminstration is cutting back on defense budget.

“It is up to us to stand with our men and women who stand at the point of the spear.”
