Furious Battle Brewing in MAF’s Blogger Competition
If you have been paying any attention to the blogosphere this week , you’ve noticed how MAF’s troopathon is exploding on blogs and on social network sites like twitter and facebook.
We’d like to send a special thanks to all the great blogs participating in our blogger competition—you are all working hard to promote our effort to send our troops care packages and we appreciate your help!
Two teams have risen to the top and are slugging it out over the open web.
In the red corner, Team Captain Ed Morrissey’s “The Hot Air Steamers” continues to shine with the support of some big blogs such as The Minority Report, Leaning Straight Up, and Stix Blog.
Ed Morrissey is leading a daily battle, and you can check out his latest words of encouragement here: http://hotair.com/archives/2009/06/18/troopathon-update-steamers-still-in-the-lead/
Stix Blog knuckles down in the trenches, featuring our tower banner on their sideline: http://stixblog.com/
In the other red corner we have Team Captain Robert Spencer and his “The Anti-Jihadists” team. Spencer of Jihad watch has teamed up with Atlas Shrugs, Islam in Action, LGF 2.0, and The Jawa Report; other blogs continue to rally and join Captain Spencer .
Take a look at Rober Spencer rallying his troops by posting our “Blogger Shootout” logo on Jihad Watch: http://www.jihadwatch.org/
Bare Naked Islam engages in full spectrum warfare; showcasing over a dozen pictures and one of our videos on their blog: http://barenakedislam.wordpress.com/2009/06/17/have-you-done-something-for-the-people-who-are-risking-their-lives-for-you-lately/
Lightning raids from Right Wing Bob (http://www.rightwingbob.com/ ) who has one of our grungy banners up and The Snooper report, who innovatively, is advertising our Platoon Pack: http://www.snooperreport.com/
We are watching intently as these two titan teams are going head to head today. Let’s see who is in the lead by the end of the day Friday!!!

Bay Area News Writes about MAF Troopathon
Bay Area News which publishes ContraCostaTimes and several other newspapers has blogged about MAF’s Telethon on their political blog
Actors join Move America Forward’s ‘Troopathon’
Celebs continue gravitating to the June 25 “Troopathon” conceived by the Sacramento-based, grassroots conservative Move America Forward to send the largest-ever shipment of care packages to U.S. troops serving overseas.
The organization announced Monday that actors Kelsey Grammer and Gary Sinise have joined others including talk radio hosts Rush Limbaugh, Laura Ingraham and Mark Levin; former Vice President Dick Cheney, actor Jon Voight, and columnist/blogger Michelle Malkin on the lineup for the “Honor Their Service” event.
Both Grammer and Sinise “have displayed a long history of support for our troops. They have been active with the USO throughout the years and their participation in our telethon is further example of what great patriots these two men are,” said Bay Area-based former talk radio host Melanie Morgan, chairwoman of Move America Forward and co-host of this event. “We are honored to have them on our Troopathon.”
The other co-host will be Andrew Breitbart of Breitbart.TV and the “Big Hollywood” blog. During the eight-hour internet, radio and television live broadcast from the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library in Simi Valley, viewers will be encouraged to sponsor care packages for the troops as the guests and hosts discuss various topics related to supporting our troops. Last year’s Troopathon saw viewers donate more than $1.5 million for care packages for the troops.

Andrew Breitbart and Melanie Morgan Plug Troopathon on FOX’s Red Eye
It’s very exciting to see that MAF has caught the attention of FOX new’s Red Eye, as Andrew Breitbart brought it up the other day and then last night we had Melanie Morgan on Red Eye as a featured guest and they ran a whole segment on our upcoming project “Honor Their Service”
Then this morning the first thing I saw was a Comcast video that had been cut of Melanie’s segment last night. I don’t know who it is at Comcast who picks what videos to feature, but we are grateful to whomever it was!

I’m working on also getting up videos of these segments on our Youtube account and then embedding in our media page here on the troopathon website, so check them out and our other videos soon!
