2nd Annual “Troop-a-thon” Care-Package Drive for U.S. Troops Airs Today
Pro-Troop Charity Hosting Celebrity Fundraiser
for American Troops Serving In War Zones

Sacramento , CA – Move America Forward, the nation’s largest grassroots pro-troop organization, will be hosting its 2nd annual “Troop-a-thon” today, June 25th from 4pm-Midnight EST.  The event will be hosted by Melanie Morgan, radio news/talk show host out of Washington D.C. and Andrew Breitbart, who runs Breitbart.TV and the “Big Hollywood” blog.

The goal of the project is to send care packages to troops in Iraq and Afghanistan. During the 8 hour event that will be broadcast live over the internet, and radio, viewers are encouraged to sponsor care packages for the troops as the guests and hosts discuss various topics related to supporting our troops. Guests will join the program live on video or telephone, and others have pre-recorded messages that will be played on air or written letters to be read on air. The broadcast will also be hosted by the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library, and will be filmed in the library’s huge Learning Center hall.

A wide array of Hollywood celebrities, musicians, TV and radio personalities, journalists, and members of the military have already agreed to participate in the project and thus lend their support to the troops. Just some of these many guests participating are: Rush Limbaugh, Mark Levin, Sean Hannity, Ann Coulter, Dr. Laura Schlessinger, Dennis Miller, Miss California U.S.A. Carrie Prejean, Jon Voight, Kevin Farley, Gary Sinise, Buzz Aldrin, Elisabeth Hasselbeck, Kelsey Grammer, Tammy Bruce, Rick Allen from the band Def Leppard and John Ondrasik from Five For Fighting, as well as legendary comedian Jackie Mason, and that’s just a partial list.

With help from an exciting list of guests and co-hosts Andrew Breitbart, and Melanie Morgan, the group hopes to beat its fundraising goal from last year, $1.5 million.  Viewers will be able to sponsor care packages for the troops on the event website http://www.troopathon.org or by phone. The care packages will then be prepared and shipped by the group’s many volunteers at a warehouse In Sacramento, Calif.

Care packages will include gourmet coffee, Gatorade, cookies, beef jerky, trail mix, deodorant, bug repellant, and other items that our military personnel have requested. Most importantly, each care package comes with a personalized note written by the sponsor. The point is to show U.S. troops that they have widespread support among the American people, improve morale and show gratitude for their service.

Satellite coordinates can be provided upon request
