Legacy Giving
Start your legacy with Troopathon by creating an estate plan. We’ve partnered with FreeWill, a free online tool that guides you through creating your will or trust. It’s easy to use and can be completed in just 20 minutes. You can use this resource on its own, or use it to document your wishes before finalizing your plans with an attorney. While creating your plan, you can include a planned gift to Troopathon to support the men and women of our Armed Forces. Get started today!
Have you already included a gift to Troopathon in your will? Let us know by filling out this quick form so we can thank you for your legacy of healing and ensure our records are up-to-date!
Certain assets, such as an IRA, 401(k), and life insurance policy, are not included in your will! These are called non-probate assets, and you must plan your beneficiaries for them separately. Use this online tool to organize your assets and even name Troopathon as a beneficiary of one or more!
Stock Donations
Donating stock or other securities lets you avoid capital gains tax and often take a charitable deduction for the full value of the asset. To make a gift of stock, contact us and we'll send you our brokerage transfer instructions so your gift reaches us correctly.
(QCD) – Qualified Charitable Distribution Donations
If you're 70½ or older, giving from your IRA is one of the most tax-smart ways to support our troops. A Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) is a gift sent directly from your IRA to Troopathon — it isn't counted as taxable income to you, and if you're 73 or older it can also count toward your Required Minimum Distribution (RMD).
To make a QCD gift:
Contact your IRA custodian and ask them to make a Qualified Charitable Distribution directly to Troopathon.
Give them our legal name, address, and EIN: Troopathon, 3105 Fite Circle, Suite #108, Sacramento, CA 95827, EIN: 84-1627277
Let us know it's coming — email [email protected] or call (916) 441-6197 so we can watch for your gift and send your tax acknowledgment.
Please talk with your tax advisor to confirm a QCD is right for your situation — Troopathon isn't able to provide tax or legal advice.
Donor-Advised Funds
Donor-Advised Funds (DAFs) are investment accounts set up solely to support charitable organizations. If you have a DAF, you can recommend a grant to Troopathon directly through your DAF sponsor's website (Fidelity Charitable, Schwab Charitable, National Philanthropic Trust, and others).
When recommending your grant, please use: Troopathon, 3105 Fite Circle, Suite #108, Sacramento, CA 95827, EIN: 84-1627277
DAF gifts often arrive without your name attached, so please let us know it's on the way — email [email protected] so we can thank you properly.
